 The Gold Buddha in Bangkok. It's about eight
feet tall and is solid gold. Not gold leaf or even a hollow casting but
solid! It was discovered about eights years ago after a fire. The
fire had cracked the clay of the temple's Buddha and the original gold Buddha
was revealed. The Buddha is believed to be 16th century but it's not known
why it was hidden beneath a clay disguise. |
